Remembering Jo Frappier

A note from Daniel P. Mehan, President and CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry:

I wanted to inform you about the passing of a member of the Missouri Chamber family: Jo Frappier. Jo became president of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1990. As a former state representative and senator, Jo brought an intense focus on pro-business advocacy that continues in our organization today. His service to Missouri also included directing the state’s Department of Economic Development under Gov. Kit Bond and working on the staff of Gov. John Ashcroft.

During his time at the Missouri Chamber, he oversaw the growth of our organization and the creation of new programs, such as Leadership Missouri, that continue today. He retired in 1998.

We have a handful of staff members here, including myself, who fondly remember working with Jo. We were saddened to hear of his passing on Jan. 23 in Florida. He was 87.

Jo was a beloved member of our Missouri Chamber family. We celebrate his life, his many accomplishments and his leadership of our organization.

If you would like to join us in paying respects, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 13 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Please reach out if you would like any more information about these arrangements.
