Missouri Chamber urges Gov. Kehoe to sign pro-business bills

The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry has written to Gov. Mike Kehoe to formally request his signature on several pro-business bills that the Missouri General Assembly sent to his desk during the 2025 legislative session.

Bills the Missouri Chamber urged the governor to sign were:

  • HB 567 (Gallick) – Providing clarity for business owners struggling with Proposition A, which placed a mandate on businesses to implement unsustainable paid leave and minimum wage policies;
  • SB 71 (Gregory) – Taking proactive steps to support public safety by providing tuition waivers to first responders and their dependents;
  • HB 1041 (Diehl) – Reducing red tape for domestic brewers by decreasing the fees for inspection of malt liquor manufactured in American breweries;
  • SB 150 (Carter) – Growing and sustaining a strong workforce by establishing the Career-Tech Certificate Program, supporting STEM career awareness and providing loan repayment for health care workers;
  • SB 47 (Trent) – Improving Missouri’s legal climate by amending Supreme Court Rule 52.08 relating to class actions, ensuring that Missouri’s rules for civil procedure are in line with existing federal regulations.

According to Missouri law, the governor has 45 days to act on bills sent to his desk when the legislature has adjourned. Gov. Kehoe has a variety of actions available to him for each bill: sign it into law, veto it or take no action, resulting in the bill becoming law by default after the deadline has passed.
