Dan Mehan statement: Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 gains FDA approval

The following is a statement from Daniel P. Mehan, president and CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“It is very encouraging to have the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 now officially approved by the FDA. The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry believes that vaccination is our state’s pathway to economic recovery and we continue to strongly encourage all Missourians to get vaccinated as soon as possible. We hope this approval can help remove any hesitancy that remains for Missourians who are unvaccinated. We also expect that this approval will help employers as they continue to take the lead on vaccination. We know that 83 percent of Missouri employers are encouraging vaccination in their workplaces. We also have more than 200 businesses that are now participating in our statewide COVID Stops Here campaign, which recognizes workplaces that have achieved widespread vaccination. We hope this approval from the FDA will help build on our momentum as we work to vaccinate Missouri and make sure that COVID stops here.”

Any organization with a 70%+ employee vaccination rate is welcome to apply for a COVID Stops Here designation at mocahmber.dreamhosters.com/CovidStopsHere. For more information or questions, call (573) 634-3511.
