Lawmakers pass bill to improve Missouri’s gas infrastructure

Natural gas is a critical resource that most Missourians and businesses rely on as part of their daily lives. It’s an essential fuel that enables heating and cooking at homes and businesses across our state.

Missouri lawmakers have passed a bill to update the state’s laws relating to natural gas to help ensure continued safe, reliable delivery of natural gas.

House Bill 2120 reached final passage after a vote by the House of Representatives on May 15. The final vote was 108-34. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Bill Kidd, a Republican from Buckner, includes language that will help improve aging infrastructure to ensure our state’s gas service will meet the current and future energy needs of businesses and residents.

The bill needs a signature from Gov. Mike Parson to become law.
