Gov. Mike Parson has announced the formation of a new task force to help strengthen Missouri’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, with a special focus on helping small and minority-owned businesses access the state’s vital economic development tools.

The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry is assisting in the formation of the Show Me Strong Recovery Task Force.

The following is a statement from Daniel P. Mehan, president and CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry:

“As the COVID-19 vaccine continues to become available to more Missourians, our state must begin to turn our focus toward doing everything we can to strengthen our recovery and help Missourians get back to work. As we approach a full reopening, we must view this as an opportunity to position Missouri ahead of the curve as the global economy returns to normal. We applaud Gov. Mike Parson for his focus on growing our economy and his efforts to reach out to Missouri’s diverse business community. Through this task force and all our ongoing efforts to support the business community, the Missouri Chamber will continue pushing Missouri forward as we work to rebuild and reimagine our economy in the wake of COVID-19.”
