On August 4, Missouri voters will have the opportunity to decide whether the state expands its Medicaid program.
Amendment 2 would require that Missouri provide Medicaid coverage to individuals earning up to $17,609 annually or a family of four earning up to $36,156.
The majority of the cost for this coverage would be covered by an estimated $1 billion each year from the federal government.
A new REMI study explored the economic impact of this move and found that it would create an average of 16,000 new jobs each year from 2022-2026. In addition, Missouri would see a $2.5 billion increase in economic output.
