To facilitate your business’s international trade, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides certificate of origin certificates, free of charge, for our members. A certificate of origin is provided for non-members for a $25 fee.
A certificate of origin may be required by a foreign country because of established treaty arrangements, varying duty rates and preferential duty treatment dependent on the shipment’s origin. The certificate of origin verifies the country in which the goods were manufactured. Some nations restrict imports from certain countries. Many countries limit the quantity of goods that are allowed to be imported, or give preference to goods manufactured in the U.S. Your international shipping firm or custom broker can determine if your shipment will require a certificate of origin.
To certify your products, email or mail notarized copies of the manufacturer’s invoice or shipper’s affidavit concerning the origin of the merchandise to membership@mochamber.com. Once received, the Missouri Chamber will verify the signatures and produce a letter of certification on the Missouri Chamber’s letterhead along with stamping the invoice with our seal. The certified documents will then be mailed back to you.
