The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry brought the annual Missouri Business Awards to St. Louis on Thursday, Nov. 14. The event, held at Busch Stadium, honored Missouri’s strongest leaders in industry, education and government.
The night’s top honors included naming Nestlé Purina PetCare as the Champion of Enterprise and Gov. Mike Parson as the Man in the Arena.
“Nestlé Purina PetCare and Gov. Mike Parson are both champions of Missouri Business,” said Daniel P. Mehan, president and CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Purina is a great Missouri success story. Today the company is a global leader in pet care. Purina has a dedicated, passionate workforce that feels personally invested in the company’s mission and success, advancing science-based pet nutrition that helps dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives. Gov. Mike Parson embodies the spirit of our Man in the Arena award. What he has done during his short time as governor is remarkable. Thanks to Gov. Parson’s unifying leadership, we have a state where the governor, our legislators and the business community are all working together to move Missouri forward.”
This year’s Missouri Business Awards also highlighted the Missouri Chamber’s recent recognition as the 2019 State Chamber of the Year, an award given by the Council of State Chambers.
“We are the State Chamber of the Year because the Missouri Chamber is a leader and innovator in our work to advocate for Missouri’s business community and improve our economy. We are the State Chamber of the Year because we have an outstanding staff,” said Mehan. “But mostly, we are the State Chamber of the Year because of our members, who support our work and believe in the mission of the Missouri Chamber. It takes a team. And we have an amazing team here in Missouri.”

In addition to the awards ceremony, the Missouri Chamber recognized Signature Packaging and Paper LLC President/CEO Dennis Vinson, who concluded his two-year term as chairman of the Missouri Chamber Board of Directors, and welcomed the board’s newly elected chairman Al Koller, president of Koller Enterprises, Inc.
