Missouri Chamber Supports Essential Election Integrity Reform

The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry is endorsing Amendment 4 and encouraging Missourians to vote “Yes” on the measure in August. Amendment 4 is a commonsense reform that will strengthen Missouri’s constitutional amendment process by ensuring proposed amendments receive broad support from voters across the state before becoming part of Missouri’s Constitution.

Today, Missouri’s Constitution can be amended with a simple majority vote, creating an attractive target for well-funded outside interests seeking to impose policies that would undermine Missouri’s economic competitiveness and long-term growth.

For Missouri employers, stability and predictability matter. Businesses make investment decisions years into the future, and constitutional amendments can have lasting impacts on the state’s legal, regulatory and economic climate. Amendment 4 helps ensure that significant constitutional changes reflect broad support from Missourians rather than the spending power of outside organizations.

“Missouri’s economic success depends on more than good policy—it depends on confidence in the institutions and processes that shape our future,” said Kara Corches, President and CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Amendment 4 reinforces the principle that lasting constitutional changes should earn broad support across Missouri. By encouraging consensus and thoughtful deliberation, this measure helps protect the stable environment that attracts investment, supports job creation and positions Missouri for long-term growth.”

The Missouri Chamber believes Amendment 4 will help safeguard Missouri from harmful policies pushed by outside groups, strengthen confidence in the constitutional amendment process and preserve a stable environment for job creation, investment and economic growth.

The Missouri Chamber is proud to support Amendment 4 and urges Missourians to vote YES in the August election.
