The Missouri Chamber Political Action Committee has endorsed Eric Greitens for governor of Missouri. The Missouri Chamber PAC believes Greitens, a Republican, is a uniquely-qualified leader who has a compelling vision for the state’s economy. He also has the right policy positions to collaborate with Missouri’s General Assembly toward improving Missouri’s business climate.

Greitens, a Navy SEAL, is an author and the founder of The Mission Continues, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring volunteerism and community leadership among military veterans. He has been named among the 100 Most Influential People in the World and as one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders by Time and Fortune magazines, respectively.

PAC Endorsed“Having gotten to know Eric Greitens in recent years, I can attest to his unquestionable leadership ability and commitment to service. Missouri voters have the opportunity to elect a high-quality individual with immense potential to inspire positive improvements in our state,” said Daniel P. Mehan, Missouri Chamber president and CEO. “But even more relevant to this endorsement are Eric Greitens’ pro-business policy positions and his understanding of the many issues facing Missouri companies and entrepreneurs. He supports the business community’s top initiatives as defined in the Missouri 2030 strategic plan. With Eric Greitens as governor, Missouri would be poised for rapid progress on several long-needed, pro-expansion policy priorities.”

Among those priorities is right-to-work legislation, which Greitens has endorsed. In recent years, the governor’s office has blocked legislation that would have given right-to-work protections to Missouri workers — an important designation for economic development and job growth. As governor, Greitens has said he would sign right-to-work into law. Greitens also supports badly-needed reforms to improve Missouri’s litigation climate, which is consistently ranked among the nation’s worst. Current Gov. Jay Nixon has repeatedly vetoed tort and labor reforms during his tenure.

“Missouri can’t afford  to let pro-jobs policy be derailed by our governor. We need our next governor to work with employers, not against them,” said Mehan. “We are fortunate that Eric Greitens wants to dedicate his energy and intellect toward improving our state as governor. I urge Missouri voters to give him that chance.”
