House committee passes paycheck protection
A Missouri House committee passed a bill to make it easier for public employees to opt out union membership and paycheck deductions that fund their union’s political advocacy work.
House Bill 1413, commonly called paycheck protection, was passed 7-3 by the House Economic Development Committee on Jan. 23.
The bill is sponsored by Rep. Jered Taylor, a Republican from Nixa. It now goes to the House Rules Committee.
The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry has supported this legislation for several years. Read more about the bill in this story from the recent House committee hearing.
